Week 2 Day 2 - Saturday, May 23rd - Fire time!

Part 2

Arnold headed home during nap time and he got some things done at the house, including baking some WONDERFUL M&M cookies. I love their stuff! Too bad we can’t do any of it this summer. Oh well.

Kyler and Quinton woke up during the time Arnold was gone so that worked out kind of well. We went for a quick bike ride up to the washrooms and then came back and I laid down while I bribed them with skittles. I am not feeling well. My stomach hurts so much. I blame it on the pizza for lunch. Maybe it was a bit much for me to handle. Who knows? A cup of tea seemed to settle my tummy. I’m so glad my hubby took out the stove for me to use!

While we were making it the people K and Q were ‘watching’ came over to visit. They have a little girl who is 16 months and an older girl who is 5. They had a blast with the kids. The boys and girls played together while their mom and dad set up their trailer. This was their first time taking it out so they needed to concentrate a bit more than usual.

Photobucket

While Arnold started making supper we started our fire. The boys brought out all this paper and Arnold brought up some wood. He figured it would last for a few hours or so but the boys didn’t think so. They made our fire tonight. Got to love it! It took Arnold using a fire stick to get it to start!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Due to the poor kidship on the fire we put them to work (hehe). They got to husk the corn and toss it into the fire. We started out with giving that job to Kyler and somehow he managed to get his brother to do all the work instead of him. Smart kid!

Photobucket

No lie, like 10 seconds later Quinton goes booting into the pool. We don’t know why or what he was thinking but running shoes and all. It was really bad! He knew something was up almost right away and he got out of the pool and DH ran up to him and took off his shoes, and socks. When I asked Q what was wrong he showed me his toes!

Photobucket

After supper Arnold worked a bit on fixing our fan for the RT since it gets hot in there. Here’s a photo of him working hard:

Photobucket

After it was good to go we went for our nightly walk. Kyler bikes his bike kid bike with the recycle and I push Quinton while he practices riding his blue bike and we take the garbage. It’s a good thing Daddy was here today since we had a lot of it. Here are my boys getting ready for our stop:

Photobucket

Once we got back and cleaned up a lot we got out the fun! Tonight we had marshmallows, chocolate covered graham crackers (so good) and some popcorn. Daddy rigged up something to use them on our new fire sticks. It was so cool! He made some GREAT popcorn!

Here is Kyler watching his Daddy make his popcorn and listening to it pop away:

And Quinton modeling our new fire sticks:

And the finished product! It was our excitement for the day! The boys were so happy to be doing something else other than just normal marshmallows!

By 9:15 or so Arnold started putting the boys to bed and I finished cleaning up the pool and whatnot. Now the little Raccoon thought it would be cool to come and visit me tonight. I stayed at the fire much longer than everyone else… maybe 30 minutes or so. I was trying to take photos of the embers and I was really still since the exposure time was so long. Well he must have thought I wasn’t there and was like 2 feet away from me. I wanted to kick him but I held back. Next time he might not be so lucky!

The boys are going to sleep as I type. They are doing so well with this camping thing and all the noises that are going on outside. Arnold is working on his computer a bit more. I guess the issue they thought they had fixed this morning still needs to be watched… I swear! You would think this was the most important thing (Arnold now tells me it’s up there on that list).

I hope everyone has a wonderful night!

People Watching

Nothing makes me laugh more on a nice chilly day than listening to people figure out where their camp sites are and listening to them fight about who is right and who is wrong. People watching/listening has always been something I enjoy. Not just for the full factor of enjoyment… but also because I feel like you can learn something from what they are arguing about, if not learn from the enjoying telling later in a story.

It seems my son, Kyler, enjoys this past time as well.

Photobucket

He woke up from his nap about 30 minutes ago or so and has just lays in his nice warm bed and watched the people drive up and down the street.

Photobucket

Sometimes he makes comments about how silly they are or about what kind of car or camper or RV or motor home they have and he loves to do it.

Photobucket

It’s so cute!

Photobucket

I’m glad he enjoys things like that as much as I do.

Photobucket

He is now showing his brother the fine art of watching people.

Week 2 Day 2 - Saturday, May 23rd - Daddy and Pizza!

Good afternoon!

Arnold got home last night around 10pm or so. It was great timing, not 1 hour before Matt, his boss, called me and asked that he check in with one of the Sr programmers when he got back. I guess he is important  He had to fix some stuff so he spent another hour or so after he got home working on his computer on the floor in the trailer. I feel so bad. This morning, AGAIN, he had to spend some more time. I got a photo of what Daddy does as soon as he gets back from his ‘vacation’

Photobucket

This morning we got up around 7:30. Luck Arnold! The boys decided to be good boys and sleep in for him. I was truly hoping they would have done that while I had them myself. And yes… no sounds from the raccoons. At least I didn’t’ hear them last night.

We made a family trip to the washroom this morning and when we got back we found out that yes, the raccoons had been there. It wasn’t that bad. They tipped over the garbage can, got on the microwave and pawed at the fridge but nothing else. At least they are clueing in a bit more that we don’t’ have anything out.

While Daddy was working on his computer the boys and I played outside and played some games! I swear I turned my back for seconds and this is what I found:
Photobucket

Kyler was very happy with himself, until he got in trouble for taking his brothers stuff!

Photobucket
We set up the pool in the morning in hopes that the sun would warm it a bit. So far it is working. Thank goodness, I don’t need another cold day like yesterday!

Photobucket

I also made up my grocery list and to-do list for the week. I’m hoping to get some more of it done soon. It’s just hard figuring everything out and getting it all done… Normally I love planning a head but for some reason planning ‘shorter’ ahead is hard (I normally do a month of meals at once).

Photobucket

We left around 10am and did our running around. I got the laundry home and started 1 load. We all went to home depot and Wal-Mart and then headed home to get flip the laundry. Hopefully tomorrow we can stop in before and after church and get the rest of it done, and bring some more things back to the trailer for suppers this week.

On our way back we picked up some more Reeds Dairy and some pizza. Here’s the boys sitting down for lunch:

Photobucket

Got to love a fast food lunch!

Photobucket

We finally got the boys down for a nap and Arnold and I put all the groceries away and got things ready for supper. Arnold pulled out his ‘stash’ of stuff he got at the conference. Really not much for me. He had better make it up to me soon or he is in some serious trouble.

Photobucket

Oh, and you can’t forget working through his money to make sure he still has it all!

Week 2 Day 1 - Friday, May 22nd - Pools and Fires!

Part 2

Well nap time didn’t last as long as it has this week, which for me sucked. Oh well. Kyler got up first after actually taking a nap and then Q got up but I’m pretty sure Kyler woke him up. I had finished most of my clean (as the pictures showed above) and I figured it was time to do a bit more stuff. Since the boys were up and the sun was out we filled up the pool and had a blast!

At first the boys just wanted to look at it. It was freezing cold! Eventually they thought it was warm enough to go swimming. Kyler was changed into his swimming suit as fast as he could. Quinton, on the other hand, not so fast. In fact after I realized how little we had in the pool I asked if he wanted to go in with his boots on. He was so all for that. So off he went, and soon Kyler thought it was a great idea and followed.

I did a bit of “PW” stuff for supper. I wanted to use up what we had left over from last night so here it is (missing a step actually, or maybe 2)

Photobucket
Grab everything you need. Pasta sauce, cheese, sugared carrots from last nights supper, chicken breast from last nights supper and rice from last nights supper. To add to it some garlic.

Photobucket
Cut up the carrots and add them to the rice and then add garlic

Photobucket
Shread the chicken and set aside (this way your picky eaters can have some ‘non sauced chicken’.

Photobucket
Mix with the sauce and heat and server over pasta (now in my case it’s a good thing you didn’t’ see the bottom of the container… I’m still getting used to the stove and I burned it!

While we were eating supper Kyler found a ‘floaty thing’ on the table. He picked it up, studied it for a bit and then asked me (no lie) “Is this Tinker bell?” I was trying to figure out what he was saying until I realized… at the beginning of the Tinker bell movie she starts out as one of these floaty things and then becomes a fairy. It was kind of funny.

Photobucket

After supper (well during and before) we had a fire. I can’t find the fire sticks (which isn’t a bad thing since they SUCK and I was going to get new ones but never got around to it) so no roasting marshmallows. Instead I just fed them to the kids. They spent a lot of time running to other campsites beside us finding sticks to add to the fire. Eventually that got boring and they started to lock each other up in the slide.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

We also played a bit of GLOW Frisbee! It was a blast! We did pretty good I think! Now the boys are all washed up and in bed. I just had to call lights out for them since I’m worried they might burn out the batteries in their frogs again.

Photobucket

I hope everyone has a good night. I’m going to add some photos and head to bed. Arnold should be home soon!! We miss him A LOT!

Night everyone!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

If you notice there are 19 Thank you's. I was trying to upload a lot of photos today at once and I thought, hey why not! I tried their photobucket bulk uploader and thank you! It worked SOOO fast. Infact I uploaded 19 photos from that in under the amount of time it takes to upload 2. (I was doing them at the same time to see what was faster.)

That's all... thank you!

Week 2 Day 1 - Friday, May 22nd - Relaxing and Cleaning

Hahahahahahahahaha I have to laugh!! Last night the stupid Raccoon came at 10pm and he stayed until about 11pm. I was getting nervous. I could hear him hitting the cups and screwing around. I was soooo mad. Well… I guess those containers did the trick! He moved them around and couldn’t find any food. Well I shouldn’t say that. He found some pez and that was it! Hehehehe. I’m sure he will be back to night but for a quick 5 minute clean up there wasn’t a lot of damage. I need to wash all the cups but that’s about all. Oh and I have to wipe down the things he jumped on but then I’m done. I know the Raccoon was jumping around more last night not only because of more stuff moved but because there were tracks all over our tables and everything. He was trying to find something to eat. Hopefully with this weekend, bringing in campers, it will be a bit easier to get him to go way.

On that fun note, we have been here a whole week! In fact I’m typing this around 8:30am and that is about when we showed up! I’m so impressed we haven’t had to sleep anywhere else and we did great. Now this coming week we have lots of rain in the forecast so that should be iffy for how things work out but I need to go home and pick up our last box of rain toys.

I have also managed to get a lot of the stuff put away but not everything. Hopefully today I can work on getting a bit more put away so that Arnold can get into bed ok tonight. I’m got most, if not all of the clothes put away last night and now I need to hang some things up in the tent and a few other things done and then I can get rid of some ‘big’ things in here.
My Challenge:

Photobucket

Kyler had to try and walk today. He didn’t get out of bed at all. So this morning I had to help get out of bed to go pee and we had to take off his bathing suit. For now, he is in his Daddy’s t-shirt and nothing else. If we go somewhere else we will put some tiggers on but really that’s about as much as I can get on him today. I’m ok with that.

Oh yeah… so here’s the funny part. We were calling Q ‘nature boy’ since we got here. Mainly because he seemed to HATE nature. Well this morning I was going to clean up the Raccoon stuff and he was just ready to book it out of there. So while I gave the boys both their juice cups in the trailer our ‘Nature boy’ put on his rain boots and went and sat at the trailer. Silly man!

Photobucket

I think that’s about all the news for this morning. We may have to re-evaluate what we have for medical supplies. I have lots of ‘normal’ Band-Aids but not enough of the big ones so we may need to get some of those today. Aside from that we are hanging out here today. It’s our first ‘full’ day here. Hopefully its still fun! Tonight, if the boys are lucky, we may do a fire. Who knows? Now if only this cloud cover would go away and it would get warm!

I was hoping to get the above stuff posted earlier today but dang my internet is on the fritz again. In fact I think now is the strongest signal I have gotten in a bit (ie 2 bars instead of 1). *knock on wood*

This morning we spent some time hanging out in the trailer. Kyler thought it was too cold so we had the heater on and just hung around. The boys watched some movies on the ‘little ‘puter’ and I worked on cleaning up this mess:

We eventually headed outside and I got to air out the boys sheets. I got the bubbles out for the boys. The ‘fun factor’ lasted a bit longer for Kyler than Quinton. Kyler was still making bubbles when I grabbed the camera but Quinton had moved onto bigger and better things.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Eventually Kyler thought it was warm enough to play in the sprinkler. Normally fine but I still had the sheets out to air out and he didn’t realize that would be an issue. See, Kyler can’t see how high the sprinkler is when he starts to turn it on so it got the sheets wet. Oh and he was fully clothed! It didn’t matter the boys had fun!

Photobucket

About then I finally had the bed ready and the curtain back up over the window. They were spending too much ‘nap time’ playing with the screen so I figured it was time to get it back up. Thank goodness for crazy glue. I needed to use some to keep the Velcro on. Mind you no matter how many times I read the warning “Bonds skin together instantly” I never listen. I got a glob on my finger and I was good about making sure it didn’t touch anything else but dang it’s bugging me now! I’m going to have to find my nail polish remover!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

I made the boys lunch and we sat down to enjoy it. I showed Kyler the fine art of making faces with your meat. He was SO excited.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Of course once you take a photo of Kyler you have to take one of Quinton.

Photobucket

Here are the left over bubbles we have. As Nana and Papa can attest to you never should leave Kyler unattended with bubbles. I swear I turned my back for *seconds* and we got some on the table. It wasn’t as bad as it was with Nana and Papa but it was yucky enough that we are going to have to wash it off with straight water before using a cloth.

Photobucket

I put the boys down for a nap after lunch. They each got to bring 1 truck. Quinton was out almost right away. He has been cranky all morning. I just told Kyler about 10 minutes ago that it was time to take a nap so I don’t hear any whispers but I’m sure he isn’t totally out yet. While Kyler was playing around I did get into the storage benches and find a few things and pull a few things out so hopefully I can get it cleaned up for Arnold (t-10 hours, can you tell I’m excited!!).

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

I hope to work on it a bit more before bed time but yeah. I have to get our grocery list ready and make sure we get out to the house this weekend to get some more things for our rain days coming up next week.

*ok side note but while I’ve been typing this out we have had 3 huge RV’s come through. This will be a fun weekend!

Have a great afternoon!
