Week 3 Day 1 - Friday, May 29th - There's SUN!

And After Week #1 and Week #2 comes… WEEK #3! Can you believe we made it?

A little wet but not that much worse for wear and we are here. Finally. I heard the first 2 weeks are the hardest so let’s hope that the next few weeks are just smooth sailing! At least we know what needs to be fixed or changed.

This morning we woke up to more rain. I was not excited about that at all. I’m really hoping that we can get some of this rain stuff gone and fixed up asap. I was working on waterproofing some parts of the trailer but we have run out of spray. (To be honest, if it wasn’t for this wonderful weather we are having right now I would consider packing the boys up into the car and going to get some more for Canadian Tire but they are loving the weather so who am I to stop them?)

Arnold got up and checked out what the Raccoons had done last night. It wasn’t as bad as it sounds (it never is lately). Arnold had left the containers a bit staggered and they had managed to climb up to the top. The knocked over some Tupperware but nothing else, thank goodness.

I brought Q out with me to go and visit daddy while I went to the washroom. I really do love my morning walks. I’m hoping the kids will stay asleep just a bit longer sometimes but I knew as I was leaving that K was up as well.

When I got back I said good morning to everyone and then started on supper! We are having Roast with carrots and potatoes. That is if Kyler doesn’t unplug it anymore. That’s right. I would guess about 1 hour or so after I started it Kyler and Q were playing in the RT and he figured they needed more light so they unplugged the CP and put the lights back in. I was NOT impressed!

Since then the boys have been enjoying the outside. We went out as soon as we could with our boots on and ran around and played with the new toy from Nana and Papa. The boys LOVE it!

Once they were done in the RT:

While they were doing that I took a comparison photo of the tree line so you can see how foggy it was the other day.

I also thought you might want to see how the table folds down into a bed so here’s where we slept last night.

Since then I’ve been cleaning up what little living space we have on the floor and making beds and whatnot. I have also been working on uploading these photos. I’m hopefully going to be up to date by the time the boys take a nap!

Wow! Shock of all shocks! The sun came out!!!

The boys were so excited pointing to it and showing me!

While outside they found a butterfly on their table

And just one of the mess because I can! (So Kyler was asking me where all the water was in his table… duh… you put sand in it!)
Photobucket

I made the boys some lunch but since the fridge froze my lettuce I don’t have anything for me so I’m eating “Made-At-Home Trail mix”

And the boys had: meat, cheese, crackers, peanuts, and some rockets!
Photobucket
Who knew that food could be so entertaining!

Quinton was pretending his hand was a monster and he was eating the peanut, you should have heard the sound effects!

It’s now nap time and I’m just getting caught up, then it’s off to nap time for me I think. Have a wonderful afternoon!

Week 2 Day 7 - Thursday, May 28th - Wet play!

Well a few more fuse flicks later and I figured enough was enough! I went down for a nap. A few phone calls and “Mommy” calls later I was up at 4:30pm.

The boys and I went outside to enjoy the ‘non rainy’ part of yesterday. They played with a few things and I played with my camera. Of all the random shots here are a few for you to enjoy:

This is how foggy it was for us. You couldn’t see building tops!

Kyler – It’s ok Quinon, come with me (leading him away)

Kyler – Here, pause for Mommy to take her stupid photos and I can show you somewhere that doesn’t have bugs! Say Cheese!

Kyler – Look! Trees! Aren’t they pretty? And bug free!

Arnold and I had decided through some phone calls that we would have Grilled Cheese Sandwiches and soup for supper. And because of the yucky-ness of today we figured inside was the best idea. While Kyler kept napping for a bit Q and I went outside to start working on supper. We had stopped earlier in the day at Shoppers Drug Mart and got our mail, as well as some replacement cheese. So off we went making our supper.

Here is Quinton helping out:

While we were waiting for Daddy the boys had a blast doing this:

Any guess to what they found?

If you said a FROG you are right! Introducing Mr. Froggie:

The boys figured no shoes in the trailer, which is fine but when it start to rain not so much.

Here’s my clan ready for supper:

We ate inside because of the rain starting. It worked out ok. We left the stove running and got our hot water ready. We had 1 kettle for dishes, 1 kettle for the boys hot water bottles, and 1 kettle for hot chocolate and tea.

After supper Q and I read some books in the trailer (Thanks again Auntie Kristina!) and Kyler and Daddy washed dishes and got things cleaned up. Once everyone was just about done we all got together outside and did some more work, collecting garbage and recycle. Then we went puddle splashing! All the way to the washroom, up to dump the garbage and recycle, then back down to take a longer walk. It was a lot of fun.

Once we got back I got the boys beds set back up and Arnold kept them busy outside. I took one at a time and got them some PJ’s clean feet, hands and faces, and some chips! They watched Toy Story 2 while Arnold finished the dishes and I worked on getting our bed moved. Because of all the rain our side of the trailer was leaking a lot! So we had to get it nice and dry again. We moved the top mattress off onto the table bed and we slept there last night. We actually kind of like it. Who knows what will happen once the sun dries up the trailer. Maybe we will still be sleeping down here.

To do the bed moving Arnold had to take 2 or 3 buckets of stuff to the van to give us some room (and to get rid of the wet stuff. So for now a lot of our things are in the van. I’m hoping to get most back in here this weekend, but things are just a little crazy right now.
Once the bed was made and moved over we got the boys onto our bed and we watched the rest of their movie. At the end of it we all went to sleep! Everyone was so tired!

Week 2 Day 7 - Thursday, May 28th - Running Around

Wow the end of week 2 already? How did it happen? Haha who am I kidding it was a crappy week.

This morning we had our wake up call from the Raccoon and the pots and pans made such a loud sound that I was *sure * it was the shelving unit with all the food on it. I was surprised it was only that. I’m really finding that these animals are mucking with my sleeping patterns and I’m not sure I can handle it much longer. It is truly like having a small baby again that only wakes up at 3 or 4am and makes noise for an hour, or an hour and a half!

I found out later this morning that the noise I heard outside the trailer was not only the stupid coon in the RT but also checking out around the trailer for more food. I even saw paw prints on a few of the boxes under our bed. I hate that thing so much!

Arnold didn’t wake me up on time this morning. Mainly because he had decided to take the GO Bus today; this was a good idea. The GO Bus is like the GO train. It is a faster way in and out of Toronto. For example Arnold’s bus he took this morning picked him up at the top of the hill and got right on the highway. It went to the Scarborough Town Centre and then out to York Mills Shopping Centre. Where there is a TTC stop. Arnold just biked from York Mills to his work (about 4km). It was much better for him than biking in the rain. He didn’t leave until about 7:30 or 7:40am and he was at work and at his desk by 8:45am. We are thinking we may pick up some more bus passes for the summer, just in case he might need them again.

While Arnold was checking the information for the GO bus system I was putting together a ‘surprise’ that Nana and Papa got the boys. Well… lets be real, they bought it for me! After yesterdays hell with them in the morning and the rain and everything Mom figured I needed something to keep me going so they got us a Little Tikes Sand and Water Fun Factory! Here are some photos of it for now:

After Arnold left the boys and I had breakfast and we hung out in the trailer for a bit. Kyler and Quinton found out that I had finished their hot water bottle blankets yesterday and insisted on playing with them! The boys thought they looked great as hats.

That is until that familure sound of rain on the trailer stopped! Kyler was the first to notice it and he wanted to go outside and play. So the boys put on their boots and coats and off they went into the yard. They were so happy to be out there.

About a half hour later or so we went on our day to day stuff. After yesterday feeling like such a hell for me I wanted to get some stuff done. I laid out our day. 1st we got gas! I can’t believe it went up 2 Cents over night! 2nd we went to the house and got some things for the storage unit and anything else we could pick up. 3rd we went to the church to drop off some tables to Steve. 4th we paid our months’ rent at the storage unit and dropped off the things in the car. 5th we went to Shoppers Drug Mart and got our mail as well as some cheese for tonight’s supper and to replace the stuff that Raccoon ate! 6th and final stop, we went to McDonalds and got lunch and milkshakes. We came back to the campsite and I set the boys up with a new movie and a ‘picnic’ lunch.

While they were eating I worked on getting the tarp over the trailer. IT took a bit but I did manage to do it, thank goodness! I just can’t handle the feeling of being wet all the time. I am really praying that weeks like this (with more than 2 days of rain) aren’t going to be a regular thing.

Currently the boys are napping as we are getting the beginning of our rainfall. Our power went out about 20 minutes ago. I’m going to go and check the fuse soon and see if that is what it is or if it is something worse. Hopefully just a fuse flick and we will be good to go. It’s getting a little ‘wet’ feeling in here without the heater running!

Hey cool!!! A new HUGE RV came in. I’m really going to have to start learning the actual names of these things. They have their car attached to the back as well as they have 2 bikes. I’m sure Arnold will be excited to see that.

Ok off I go to brave the rain! Oh good, just a fuse flick and we are in business! I’m off to take a nap.
