Week 8 Day 2 - Saturday, July 4th - houses, fairs and more

We got to sleep in! The boys had gone to bed so late that we got to sleep in until around 8am or so.

When we got up we checked out some houses and found about 8 of them. We e’mailed and called a bunch of them and had 1 call back right away. The guy basically asked when we could get there and we said… oh a half hour or so. So off we went. We really quickly got the kids dressed and headed out into the van. Luckily we had packed a few things up the day before so we did ok.

We went and looked at the upper level of a house. The areas we were looking at were right by the Don Mills subway station because the time for Arnold to travel would be really fast. We figured we would rather that then just hoping we could handle the longer rides and commutes in the winter time. This house was about a .5km bike ride to the subway station.

The house was the upstairs unit of a 3 unit house. The main floor was BEAUTIFUL! You walked into the house and went up a few steps; there was the living room and dining room. Then the new kitchen with a dishwasher! If you went to the left there was a little hallway with 2 closets and then you got to the end of the hall. If you went to the left there was the bathroom (on your left) with a full bath and on the right was bedroom 1 (future baby room) and bedroom 2 (boys room, walk in closet!!!!). If you went to the right there was the master bedroom. I was surprised to see another FULL bath in that room and then the room! Oh my gosh it was so pretty! There is hardwood floor in the whole house and it continued into this room. There was a bit of a ‘lip’ step up to the sliding doors to the backyard but the best part… a fireplace in the corner! Wow it was so cool!

Outside the house has a mini deck that wrapped around the back part and had a bigger landing just outside the sliding doors. It was so cool. You went down the steps and it was concrete around the garage and a concrete pad to put another car (HELLO, trailer parking!!!!!!!) and a big double fence door at the front. There is a tree in the back yard that hasn’t’ been taken care of but is still nice and a ‘garden’ area that took up a big chunk of the back yard but there is NO WAY we could keep it. We asked about removing it and they said sure.
We were in love! It was perfect!

After that we went out for some lunch and then headed down to the Taste of Lawrence.

When we were done there (oh and the boys first ‘rollercoaster ride’!) we headed home. We stopped and got gas and I went to the little booth for Whitamore’s Berry Farm. I got some strawberries and peas!

They were soo good! We went home in time to say goodbye to the neighbours. Oh and we heard a ‘good story’. They were out enjoying the fire and I guess the girls group that was beside them was REALLY loud and someone called them. Security came and told them if they get called on again they will be kicked out. Well I guess someone called and Security came down and told them the police would be here soon to kick them out. Well some of the girls weren’t really ‘drinking age’ so they packed up as fast as possible and headed out. They left this at their site:

The boys woke up from their nap and we went out and got some groceries for supper. We picked up some ice cream from Reids dairy. I think it was K’s first ice cream cone. It was good!

We realized we forgot some more things and while I did some research on the price of some shorts (since I had no more pairs left due to damaging them) the boys played with their boats and Arnold read.

We went back out and got some shorts for me (after I tried a few stores) and got Q some pull ups. We spent so much time there because of the price issues. We were waiting for a price check, when it came it was a different price than what was on the nearest tag, and they were just having problem after problem after problem and Arnold and I decided to fight it. So we did. We waited and talked to the CSM and they gave it to us for the price listed. We were going to get back about 8.00 but when she punched it in she punched it in as 8.00 instead of 15.00. That made my day!

When we got home and had supper the boys went on a little nature walk.

I put up Kyler flag we got at Wal-Mart. They love it!

Arnold worked on the computer for a bit more and I got the kids into bed. Eventually my computer will be back to ‘normal’
