Week 11 Day 6 - Wednesday, July 29th - Unpacking

Arnold went back to work today. He left rather early and in turn got to work super early. We both keep forgetting how much/little time it will take to get places!
Q and I did some house work and some minor moving. We made some beds and kept cleaning and getting rooms ready. In the evening we went and picked up the scrapbooking stuff we had at Kristina’s house. I figured at least I could get the majority of things moved out of people’s houses it might work out better!
We came home and I got Q ready for bed (he was still sleeping in the basement with us) and Arnold kept working on things outside and in. I had a pile of stuff for the basement and other rooms and Arnold would help us move them around.

Week 11 Day 5 - Tuesday, July 28th - Moving Day

Tuesday:
We moved! How hard is that to explain! Let’s see:
Arnold brought Q over to Lori’s really really early in the morning (well around 7:30am or so). We did stop and get me something to eat from McDonalds before they left (and sure enough McDonald’s messed it up but whatever). The boys went over and unloaded Lori’s house and then Arnold went to Pastor Steve’s place and did the same there and came home. I unloaded and unpacked things from the kitchen kept the laundry going and did a bit more unpacking here.

When Arnold got home we emptied the trailer and then went to the next stop, the storage unit. Because we had taken some the day before, we were doing good and managed to fit it all in. We closed the storage unit account and headed off home. We stopped at Subway and I picked up some subs for us while Arnold went home and started to unpack. We made a quick stop for lunch and kept going. We went to the campground and put everything else in that we couldn’t fit in the car or didn’t want too (ie the BBQ). Then we filled the car and headed home. Unpacked it all and headed back to the UHAUL spot. We dropped it off and raced back to the trailer. We finished take down and took some photos. Then we brought the trailer home and dropped it off here. I think we picked up something to eat for supper and went to Lori’s and Q from his fun day. He had a BLAST! It was wonderful (thanks again Lori, it was wonderful to not have him running around all day).
Here are some photos of the campsite:

Week 11 Day 4 - Monday, July 27th - Packing and Moving

Q and I had a good night. He slept with me in my bed. The next morning we packed up/cleaned up/burned things. It was a good day. We spent as much of our day outside as we could and did make a run to Mcdonalds for Lunch since we had no fridge or food!

Q and I met Arnold at Warden and Lawrence and picked him up so we could go and get the trailer we and reserved. We went and filled up the trailer with some things from the storage unit and then we went out for supper and took our time going to the new house. Rob had asked we get there around 8pm but by the time we had supper and everything it was almost 7pm and we were ready to go so we took our time coming over. Once we were on our way Rob called and asked if we would be able to get there soon so we sped up a bit and got there shortly after 7:15pm.

We did our final walk through and unpacked the car and trailer and got ready for the night. We were tired and just wanted to sleep. Here are a few photos of Q enjoying the new house:

I finished unpacking by around 9pm or so but Arnold kept going as long as he could. He was incredible!

Week 10 Day 3 - Sunday, July 19th - Fun Rides

Nana and Papa left today. I think just after lunch. We just had a lazy day. It was so nice to hang out and Kyler was super excited for his bacon breakfast! We had lunch at the campsite and headed over to the new house. The Landlord’s parents let us in and we got to show my parents the new house! They really liked it. Mom seriously doesn’t think the bus will fit to the backyard but we will see.

Once Nana and Papa headed out Arnold and I continued to do some more packing/cleaning to get things moved over to the new house’s garage. While we were working one of the ‘nice people’ who are working came and took the boys for a ride in the Kubota. The kids were SO excited. I made Arnold snap a few photos:

Moved in!

I can actually say we are moved in! Not all moved in. I mean we have all of our things out of the campsite, storage unit, Lori's house, most from Kristina's house (except a box of food) so now we just need to empty my parents house. It makes me very happy to say that.

That being said, I'm sure you, my readers, aren't too impressed that I can't update on here. It's been crazy. My goal is get some updating done. I can tell you I don't remember all the days but updating is on my "To-Do list" (and for those who know me you know I have a LONG and LOTS of to-do lists). Hopefully I can bump it up to my 'to do this week' list.

I hope you are all enjoying August. I know the boys and I are for sure!

Happy August, the last month of summer.

Week 5 Day 7 - Thursday, June 17th - The Accident

After my parents call last night we ended up getting up early and saying goodbye. I came out of the trailer around 6:45am or so and I was getting a little upset because my parents were leaving already without saying goodbye! Arnold informed me they were going to dump their water and come back. Plus he wouldn’t let them leave since they were giving him a ride to work.

Nana and Papa came back and said goodbye to the kiddos and got everything (ie Arnold and the bike) in their bus and they headed out! Arnold was really grateful for the ride because they were taking him to Yonge Street and the 401 and his ride would only be like 5km instead of 26km!

It was really really rainy. We ended up staying home and chilling out inside. The boys and I played games most of the day and I did a bit more cleaning/organizing with our house. I just felt like if it was organized more it would be a bit more ‘cleaner’. We were going to have the C&C to our house but with the weather the way it said it would be it was better to cancel it. So we did.

A friend of mine posted on a website I'm on that talked about how the Toronto Workers were going to go on strike. I clicked on the link and found out that the Workers Union also included the CAMP! This ment that if they did go on strike that all parks and grounds would be closed! I was so worried. It is only the 17th and we had *just* paid our permit to go until the 15th of July and we would lose that money, then we would also lose our place to live! I spent all afternoon calling different places and seeing if we could find a new place to live and then praying that nothing would happen here. I called newspapers, the Councilers office and a bunch of other Toronto companies to find out what would happen. I ended up spending the afternoon praying about what would happen.

Arnold and I chatted during the day and since our supper plans of hamburgers and such went out the window we decided that pasta with sauce and meatballs was a great dinner to have. Arnold had left work early to get home in time to hang out a bit with the crazy hyper boys! Shortly after Arnolds ride began I got this text:
I’m going to be late I’m at 41 division I am reporting that I got hit by a car. I am fine and so is the bike. My phone is dying though.
Talk about scaring the crap out of me! The boys and I jumped in the car and booked it to the 41 division station. I was freaked out! I ended up having a panic attack’ish thing in the car and I was calling my Mom and Dad in the USA. They prayed with me on the phone and calmed me down a bit. I was very careful but quick with my driving. We got to 41 division and Arnold was still filling out forms. We were so fast that all of us were in our pj’s and Q had no shoes on! We waited about 10 to 15 minutes and then we were on our way home. We got a copy of the form and figured out what to do next and left.

Here’s what Arnold says happen for the accident:

He was in the HOV lane (High Occupancy Vehicle) and a car moved into it without making a shoulder check and hit Arnold. He skidded off his bike and hurt his bike and himself. The guy stopped and checked on Arnold. He asked if Arnold wanted to call the police but Arnold said he was fine. Instead they pulled off the road and made sure everything was ok. Arnold asked for his insurance information but the guy didn’t give it to him. He did give Arnold $50.00 for the bike shorts we *just* got the other day that are now ripped! And Arnold took down his plate number.

When Arnold got to the police station we found out that the car was registered to a company! That’s why we figure he didn’t want to give the insurance information! We were also told by the police that the next time that Arnold gets hit by a car (we are hoping there isn’t a next time but you never know) and there are *any* injuries at all he is to call the police at once!

After a lot of hugs and kisses and making sure he *seemed* to be ok I took him home. We did first stop at the pizza store and picked up some supper and headed home. I did stop at the front gate to talk to whoever was working. We found out that if the Toronto Workers did go on strike we would be able to stay. The managers, who aren't part of the union, would run the camp grounds. After that we went to the campsite and hung out and didn’t do much. I got some more cleaning done and relaxed. Arnold didn’t want to be far from the boys so he took K for a walk. They got some photos with the camera. Then it was my turn to take photos of the injuries and the bike. It was SO hard to handle him! Mainly because he kept saying he was fine. I knew it was a lot of adrenalin but it was hard. I made him e’mail his boss and let him know. Then we headed off to bed.

Week 1 Day 2 - Saturday, May 16th

Written - May 17th

Ok Week 1 Day 2 (So Saturday, May 16th)

As I said in my last post we were up SO early due to a nice rain storm. That was how we figured the rest of our day would go. It had started earlier that night but it was about 5am when K joined us in bed, or me I should say.

We eventually got up and the boys did a trip to the washroom wearing their boots and rain coats. They loved it! Arnold took them down, and from what I understand it took a while. They were splashing in all the puddles.

By the time they came back (My post from there talks about it being 'late' at 7:20) Arnold and I headed out. We waved goodbye to the kids and booked it out of there and off to the house. As soon as we got there Arnold had some breakfast and I started some laundry. It was good timing. We then got a few things moved around and the loads to Steve's house ready to go (our youth pastor at our church is 'storing' our stuff (aka using it in his new place) until we find our own place). Once our friends, Karin and Shawn got to our house with their truck we headed off. Arnold and Shawn took over some stuff in the first load and Karin and I packed up the kitchen and visited. We managed to get alot done. Or what felt like alot.

By 10:45am we realized a few things we needed (our cover for our mattress was the wrong size so we needed the size up, as well as some other things for the house), and we all went our separate ways. Shawn and Steve (who came back after the last load) took the last load to Steve's house, Karin went out to exchange the bag for us and then off to her appointments, Arnold stayed at home and got some more stuff ready to go to the storage unit and brought it to the front room, and I finished up the packing of the kitchen and we moved alot of it to the front of the house or out to the van. It was perfect. Once Shawn got home with the empty truck we filled it up with a load of stuff to the storage unit and then hit up Canadian Tire and got a new shelving unit and then went out for lunch. By the time we got to our house it was about 1:30 or so. Karin came over after her things to do with the bag for the bed and the boys took it all over to the storage unit. Karin and I finished filling up our car and hers and she followed me out to the campsite. It was raining SO hard by then. In fact people on the highway were going like 50 or so instead of going 100km/h. It was getting annoying!

We got to the campsite and I had permission to bring them down to drop off some things then book it out of there. Karin came down with me and we quickly ducked into the 10x17 tent and waited out the big part of the rain (what we had just had on the highway) then we emptied her car. Her husband and mine showed up shortly after and we got the BBQ and a few other things off there. We said thanks (after giving them the tour) and off they went.

Arnold and I then spent a bit of time getting organized. I put up the 5 shelf unit and we put all of our kitchen things on there. My dad kept saying that we really needed to have Rubbermaid containers for the food cause the coons would get in it and other things. So eventually my mom said, enough! She sent Dad and Arnold to do a Canadian Tire run! They went out and got another 5 shelf, an extension cord (which will handle 'everything' (good thing Dad is an electrician)), and a few other things, including some containers for the food. It was perfect! They got back and we made the next set of shelves so that the containers fit in JUST and that worked out well for us. The first set of shelves we moved over for the toys and made some room.

DH then spent some time on the computer trying to find us a fridge without very much luck. He sent off a few e'mails but nothing seemed to help! We finally decided we were just going to buy one so then he had to do research to find one to buy you know how men are!

After that we just worked really hard to get everything set up and ready to go. It took us a while to get things worked into containers, cleaning out buckets of "throw this in there" and then we managed to get some ideas of where things should go. Good thing too! We sat down for supper in the "Bus" around 7pm or so and had a crock pot roast that mom made (2 actually) and some potatoes (as we forgot the carrots). Then for dessert it was angel food cake and some whipping cream and strawberries! SOOO good.

Right after supper we did another washroom trip without realizing the time. We should have gotten the boys to bring their tooth brushes but we didn't realize it was already 8pm! Quinton soon showed us the time by being so grumpy and we got them off to bed. My mom gave me 2 water bottles and we heated them up and put them in bed for the boys. It was a great idea. I'm going to knit up some covers for them so that they aren't excited about twisting the tops off and getting water everywhere.

Once they were down DH and I got ready for bed, did some interneting and off to lala land for us as well. We were so tired from working so hard that day.

Week 1 Day 1 - Friday, May 15th

Written - May 16th

Well Day #2 of moving is here. I'm really excited for it actually! Yesterday we were up at 7:30am and moving! The night before DH and I loaded up the van with our 10x17 tent, some things for the gazebo and a few other random things, we also loaded up the trailer with a few things and hooked it all together that night. When we realized about 7:45am that we had NO clothes for the boys we knew we were going to have a fun morning!

We all piled into the van and went to breakfast at CJ's and then off to the campsite. DH talked to the lady at the front and asked if we could 'look around' first before we picked/were assigned a site. She said sure, gave DH a map, marked off what was taken already and told him to go have a look. We picked our site (75) and then had DH go up with the van to get registered. Before he left we got the Trailer level or sort of, and the boys and I were working on 'stealing' rocks from other campsites near us to make a circle around our campfire. All the sudden K goes, "Mom I have to poop!" So off we went on the first of MANY treks to the bathroom. It didn't take us that long (as we are further from the washrooms) but we got up there and K went into the mens washroom. A few moments later he came out and told me he had just peed. I asked if he had washed his hands yet and he goes "opps, nope!" runs back in and tries to wash his hands. I could hear him yelling so I asked if he was ok and he said he needed me to come in and help him. I explained that this was the boys washroom and mommies were not aloud. He insisted he needed help and since it was 9am I figured not alot of people would be in there so I called in to check. There was a campsite worker in there and he said to go right in so I went in, helped wash his hands and off we went back to the campsite.

We got down the stairs, all 19 of them, and the boys both spotted birds and off they went. Then DH came around the corner from getting things set up at the front and we jumped in the van and headed back to the campsite. We managed to get the trailer up and generally put together before long.

I'll post more but I just realized how 'late' it was this morning (already 7:20am) and we have to get back to the house for 8am! I have to go and wake up Nana and Papa and let them know they are on Grandparent duty soon.

Hopefully our thundershowers we had last night will be the end of it for today!

Mir

~~~~~~ continued later ~~~~~~
I'm all done, well generally all done.
con't about yesterday:
We got the trailer generally set up (ie beds out, leveled, electrical hook up, and the dresser up) and my parents came in. The kids were so excited to see them. We went to chat with them a bit more then Arnold and I started emptying out the van. We had the boys mattress and the 10 by 17 foot tent in there. IT worked out really well to just transport those things at first. We made sure things were set with my parents, they understood where we wanted everything and off we went!
Arnold and I headed off to the campsite to the house and started getting things moving. We packed up a few things and got ready to move some more around. We first made a storage unit run, then hit up the computer repair place so I could get my computer back and got some lunch. Afterwards we went home and got a load for the trailer. We went back and saw everything. I was so impressed. My dad had got the 10 by 17 up and it looked great! We moved a few things in there and then hung out while the boys napped. About 1 hour or so after we got there the boys woke up and we played around and did a few washroom runs/bikes. It was alot of fun!
Around 4:30 or so I asked Dad and Arnold to head back to the house and pick up a few things as the bugs were starting to bite and I didn't want to handle that. I dressed them in their pants, long sleeves and coats and socks. Arnold and Dad went and picked up some cooking things we needed, along with the gazebo(sp) and a few random things. When they got back we started setting up the gazebo and got it up before supper. Mom made crock pot chicken with some chicken stuffing, cheese, and cream of chicken soup. It was SOOO good. She also made some rice to go with it as well.
We headed up to the washrooms around 7:30, 8pm and got the boys faces, feet, legs, arms and hands washed up and clean'ish' as well as brushing their teeth. We walked back to the campsite and said goodnight to my parents and off we went. By the time we got the boys changed and in bed it was already 9pm! I couldn't believe how fast the day had gone.
DH and I stayed up a bit longer, checking e'mail and getting ready for the next day.
That night though... wow.... We had a HUGE thunderstorm around 5am and Kyler ended up waking up and needed to come and snuggle. So he came to see me and DH went and slept in their bed. Overall it went really well. The rain didn't seem to do much to the trailer if anything and everything said and done the placed looked great. Which was a great start to the going to be rainy day!
I'll post more tomorrow and put up some photos. For now my bed is calling my name... and yes I realize it's only 9:20pm
