Week 7 Day 7 - Thursday, July 2nd - Running around
1 - Bring some mail to Arnold during his commute (in order to get the metro pass again he had to bring in something that had his new sticker on it for mailing purposes). We had everything laying out the night before but he totally forgot to bring it with him. So I got the boys up super early and headed out to meet Arnold with the mail. We met up at Victoria Park and Eglinton. The boys gave him the mail and we were off again.
2 - We brought the computer to the shop. We got there just as they were opening and really stressed to the guy that we needed the computer ASAP since it is my 'company machine'. Now there is NO lying there. It is my company machine, BUT my company isn't using it that much this summer. Oh well. By the end of the day there was someone working on it so that made me feel good.
3 - We drove to the zoo right after dropping it off. We made it in some seriously good time as well, all things considered I got lost! I know I know I go every week and I got lost! I figured I would save the time of going south then back up north so I just kept going and thought I would eventually find the normal road. No matter how much Arnold told me to get off one road earlier I figured it was just a bunch of houses I could totally do it! Nope not at all. I ended up on the phone getting directions with Arnold. Thankgoodness we found out some good news and his new phone had come in earlier that morning. He at least had a secure phone that wouldn't cut out on him at all. After about 5 minutes of driving around we got there! There were no buses today so we got to park in our normal summer spot.
We went to the gate and I had to use my renewal pass information since I didnt' have my new pass yet. We did a few random things around the zoo then stopped for an early lunch. The boys got stuff from Harveys and I got something from the 'food on the go' group beside them, I was thinking healthy lunch... it was SOOO Gross. Next time not ordering from there! We had lunch and wondered around a bit more and took the train again (we did it as soon as we got there as well). All in all a good morning. I think the reason it wasn't as busy as we thought was because the weather was not good. We did have fun thought
4 - Went right home after the zoo and the boys gave me a few moments of peace as they were sleeping in the van. It worked out to the best, Thank you God, because the water had found a way into the trailer and soaked everything where the bed would have been. It was all over the wood flooring. It had soaked the clothes that were there, any towels and such. But the worst of all was a cardboard box. The box was not a big deal but what was inside and beside was the kicker. Every single book we had at the campsite (including some of the books that were from the Church Library) as well as all our DVDs. Everything was soaked. I spent the next hour bringing it all into the RT (which was really wet as well) and putting them on the table and turning the fan on. Even today( almost a week later) some of them are still wet and have mould. They will have to be thrown out. What I couldn't understand is why things were wet in the RT. I was really surprised. Then looking at the grass I figured it out.
There is a 'forest' behind us that is on a slant. Somehow the water came rushing down it (there must have been some serious rain while we were at the zoo) and went right down any path it had. It turns out that the path of least resistance is right into our campsite. It went from the back of the lot, past the fire pit, throught the middle into a low spot then up infront of the trailer and RT and right down the little slant the RT is on and out into a HUGE puddle in the next site over. It was bad. Arnold had talked to someone who was here during it all and he said there was about 6 to 7 inches of water going through his site as well. Anything under the 6 to 7 inches is wet, like SOAKING wet in our RT.
The boys and I spent the next little bit doing some laundry. Once they woke up. I did some more work around the site cleaning up and dealing with the water and it looked alot better by the time Arnold got home from work.
5 - When Arnold got home we dealt with everything from the day and just chilled.

Rain Rain Go away!
We just got back from Kylers JK thing (more about that in the morning, I'm so tired!) and I figured it was ok until I started loking at the trailer. There are random water marks all over and the seams are now soaking.
So....
NTS - All seams (inside and out) need to be waterproofed
-All tags that are used to roll the canvas windows up and down with need to be WP inside and out
-all corners need to have the square peices done that grandma made (finish WP'ing those first) then remember to move things away on the boys side
-dry out the curtins on the boys side
ahhhh I hate this.
To add to the fun the raccoons are in the RT again. At least we got the lock on the fridge just before Arnold left to bring the babysitter back.

Week 1 Day 7 - Thursday, May 21st - They came back and we have an injury
Yep. That’s right. They *love* hot sauce… and my FAVOURITE hot chocolate mix! This is going to be a very hateful relationship!
So it all started last night around 10:45pm or so. The radio had stopped and I was just laying down to go to sleep and I heard him. I thought “hell no, he can’t even wait until I’m in bed asleep!” I went out with my flashlight (I know stupid move) and caught him leaving the tent with my hot chocolate container. I was right off pissed. I grabbed a piece of wood and chucked it at him. He dropped the hot chocolate and bolted. I pick it up and went back to bed muttering under my breath something about wanting to beat him or kill him. Yes I know I’m evil!
I went to sleep shortly after that and was awoken again at 1:50am. Kyler fell out of bed again and was crying. Into bed he came with me and eventually I got him under the covers and asleep. I went back to sleep and then at 3:30am… the Raccoons were at it again! I was so mad. You know it’s not even that they go into the tent and move things around and basically break things open or take them with them, it’s that I feel like they are violating my things. And that bugs me more. If they want to trade, I’ll make them a serving of whatever we have every breakfast, lunch and supper and put it on a tray for them to eat, and in return they don’t go in my tent I would SO do that.
I didn’t get back to sleep until about 4:30am. Part of that reason was the Raccoons but part of it was the fact that I had no power! I didn’t want to go outside at 4am and figure out what the deal was but I was concerned. Quinton woke up at 6:30am and was upset to find out there was no one helping him warm the bed! I told him to come and visit and he did. Right after he warmed up a bit we were up for the day. I went outside (after trying *everything* I could think of in the trailer) to find out we blew a fuse last night. I’m really not sure how as the only thing running was my power cord for my computer, the internet and radio… oh well. I flipped the fuse and the music started up again so I knew we were good.
Then I took the camera out to survey the damage in the RT. It wasn’t as bad as I thought. He took the other can of hot chocolate, and ate the ‘test’ cereal we made up the night before (I put maybe 2 cups of Cheerios in the container for cereal and put hot sauce on the lid). I did spray a few things with Lysol and it seemed to keep him off/away. Or it could just be those great containers that Nana and Papa got (BTW we are heading out to get 2 more today for dishes and random things).
Do you think he will eventually just go away? When he realizes there will be no more food will he just stop coming? I really need some ideas on how to get rid of him.
I made a list of things we would need, and that now included some more containers for food and such around there and we took our time heading out. I think it was about 9am when I got the boys moving enough to get clothes on. I put the boys back on their bed around 7:30am and they watched some movies. Kyler kept changing the movies and he ended up watching the Shrek 3-D complete with glasses and everything. He loved it. While they watched movies I cleaned off my bed and got a few things off the floor and cleaned up which is good because it was starting to get bad. Shortly after 9am we headed out. I think it was about 9:30am by the time we got out of the park.
We ended up not taking the highway as it wasn’t moving at all. It took about 45 minutes to get to the kids doctor’s appointment and we were doing ok. I had to park 2 streets over as it was so busy there. I got her to check both boys. Kyler has been falling out of bed a lot and I’m a bit worried about his balance. She checked his ears and one was a bit red and one had some fluid in it but nothing to worry about. Then she checked Q and he wasn’t limping today so we watched him walk with and without shoes on. He did ok. She said if he seems like he is limping more over the weekend bring him back on Monday.
After the doctor’s appointment we headed to Canadian Tire and got the containers we needed and a bit of extra stuff. Then we did our next stop at the grocery store, and then to get our mail then to get milkshakes!! Kyler was so good today so that he could have one!
Once we made it home I set up the sprinkler for the boys. Kyler, Quinton and I got changed into our bathing suits and we had a blast! Well I should say Kyler and I did. Quinton thought we were a bit crazy. We even moved the slide into the water to make a water slide. Kyler kept telling me it wasn’t as good as the frog one at Nana’s hotel but it would do. Silly boy! I can only work with what I have.
I made lunch and cleaned up after our ‘guests’ again and the boys seemed to be enjoying themselves.
I managed to get a quick photo of Quinton enjoying every last drop of his milkshake.
The boys have been put down for a nap but I’m not sure I see it happening today! I’m going to keep working inside the trailer and hopefully when Arnold gets home tomorrow he will be able to see the floor and *maybe* if he is lucky the benches.
**Later, the internet was fuzzy so I didn’t get everything posted at nap time, Sorry**
Well the boys decided to play tricks on me. Yesterday Quinton slept and Kyler stayed awake. Today Kyler slept and Quinton stayed awake. It’s hard for me to have a nap when both of the boys don’t nap. I feel like I have to be awake the whole time so no one goes anywhere.
Kyler slept until about 5:30 or so. Then I figured it was time for everyone to get up. I changed into some normal clothes and the boys went out and played under the sprinkler again. They had so much fun! I made chicken, carrots and rice. It was really good actually. We had a good supper and then got moving for the rest of the night. After every supper I put the food away, do the dishes, wipe off the tables and collect the garbage and recycle. We then take the bikes around and drop off everything where it needs to go and walk around to our site again.
Tonight we had ‘dinner theater’. There was one site that was having a ‘colourful’ discussion. It was horrible. Every other word was a swear word and oh my gosh I couldn’t handle it. I just about yelled over to watch their language but I had to be quiet. I knew it was for the better. When we biked past their site 45 minutes later they were still yelling at each other. It was so bad.
When we came home from our garbage run I dried the dishes and put them away and Kyler got the bathroom bucket from the trailer and locked it back up again. I got everything cleaned up and put away. Sprayed the Lysol all over and I said a little prayer that nothing ‘exciting’ happen tonight. I’m not looking forward to this at all. We did our walk to the washrooms and I wash my face, and the boys. Then we did teeth and a washroom break. Hopefully nothing exciting happens tonight! On our way home we had some issues. Kyler fell. It’s our second injury of our camping ‘season’. I hated it. I knew it was going to happen, I could see it in slow motion but I couldn’t do anything about it. Thank goodness for the stuff Lindsay gave us for our medical kit. We patched him up and he is in bed now watching *Everyone’s Hero* movie. The boys are having their popcorn snack and some apple juice boxes. So far so good. Kyler didn’t want to take off his bathing suit (as it was the last thing we had on) so I let him keep it on and he wanted one of Daddy’s shirts so he is wearing Daddy’s Robot shirt and chilling out. His poor owies. I just hate it. It’s so hard to explain!
We decided at supper that a movie night was in order (before any of this happen) so the boys are now watching their movie and I have managed to get a few more things cleaned up and ready to be moved back out to the RT. Hopefully it will go well.
On a side note I found out a few things today/evening from one of the workers here:
*she thinks they are going to charge us an extra 8.00 for our RT. I’m so not impressed as I asked about it before. I made sure at the beginning of the summer, heck LAST year that 2 tents meant a tent trailer and something else (being the RT).
*she thinks that the campsite may make us move sites. We may have to move every month to not kill the grass. That does not appeal to me at all. The bonus is if we did I would go to the site across us or beside us. I just think a change might help the Raccoons if they keep bugging us.
Oh and since these uploads for photos are taking forever it’s now 10pm and the Raccoon is into the tent again.. This bites. I’m sure he got into something. I can hear him. I hate this thing!!!!!! Poor Kyler… he is asking me if the Raccoon is going to get his bike.
I’m missing a photo of K’s hand and the boys in bed. Maybe I’ll try and post it tomorrow but right now I need sleep. Enjoy your night everyone. I’m sure I’ll be up to my Raccoon noise at 3:30am!

Week 1 Day 4 - Monday, May 18th Part 2
So far so good! It’s cold but we are doing ok. Once Arnold got back from his shower the boys started to wake up, mind you it took like 30 minutes for them to get out of bed! We just hung around until about 5:20 or so then we headed upstairs with everyone in the van. We all waited for the taxi and said our goodbyes. It was hard (I’m not going to lie) and as always I was crying but I swear with these little kids around you can’t be sad for long.
On our way back to the trailer the boys were looking out the window and K puts his head out the window and his tongue out and starts panting like a dog. I had to laugh. He told me he was BOLT!
We got back to the campsite and I started supper ASAP. I figured if I had something to do I wouldn’t be so emotional. I made meatballs, and spaghetti! Wow was it good! The boys did a great job playing around while I made supper.
Just before supper I had them get some soap and I got their hands washed. We have one of those hanging shower things. You put the water in them and let the sun heat it up. Well We just lay it on the table and use it for washing hands and feet. It stays warm for along time! I had the boys get their soap and I washed their hands and arms a bit and they sat down to eat. Once the pasta was done I put the kettle on to get some warm water for the dishes.
We sat down and ate. I finished first and started the dishes and got them all cleaned up and let them air dry (note to self, may not be such a smart idea, I think we are getting some extra protein with the bugs that landed on them when wet and couldn’t get off). Once the boys finished their supper as well we all headed out to the garbage cans. We got rid of the garbage and of some recycle we had lying around. It was a nice little walk and I can see doing that with the boys every night. Kyler was on his bike that his Papa found and put on some training wheels this weekend and Q was on his blue bike that he pedals and you push.
When we got back we started our fire! Papa had made bacon again this morning (at Kyler’s request that he go to the “Bacon store” and get some for this weekend) and he put the grease on the fire! So I figured instead of having a bunch of animals over here I might as well get the fire going. Arnold and I had salvaged some wood from another site earlier and I used that to start the fire. We got a huge fire FAST. The boys were oh so very impressed with their mommy. Then it kind of simmered down. I’m going to have to work on my fire making skills.
Once the fire was over (around 8:30pm or so) I had everything put away and we were just waiting for Daddy’s plane to go overhead. And wouldn’t you know it they must have cleared the airspace! I swear! For a campsite that must have seen at least 5 to 10 airplanes every hour or so we didn’t see ONE for about 45 minutes! I was shocked! Finally we saw one and Kyler announced he had to go poop in the big potty upstairs. So off we trekked (I grabbed the toothbrushes and a washcloth before leaving) and we made our way up the stairs. He tried to go but nothing… again! Hopefully this kid gets his motions sorted out soon.
We did manage to wash up Q’s feet, hands and face. As well as Kyler’s hands and face and we got the cloth wet to do his feet when we got home. I also got them to brush their teeth and let me do it as well so I now know that all those marshmallows they had at the campfire are at least mostly off their teeth.
On our way back we saw a raccoon in the garbage. It was scared of us. Good thing though because K was scared of it so it worked out rather well. We got back and headed to bed. After much squirming and fussing I think they are finally asleep. Only 1 hour after getting in there.
Random things for today:
-Must find a new lighter. There are 4 at home in a box I have to get
-need to find a pen. I’m missing writing out my lists, and things that I need to get from home (see above)
-my hands and skin are SOOO try! It’s crazy how dry you get so fast! I’m not sure I can handle it all summer. Any suggestions on a good lotion?
-When we were at the campfire I told the bugs to go away then Kyler yells: Hey Bugs! Don’t bug us! Just go home and have a sleep! Ok? Ok! The people a few spots down were giggling at him.
The Fireworks are just ending (more bangs in a row than before) so it’s my cue to head to bed. I’ll write more tomorrow, and maybe by then I’ll have the photos finished loaded!
Happy May Long Weekend!
Written - May 14th - The day has finally come!
Yesterday I was having one of those days. I was so frustrated and I couldn't handle everything. I finally called DH and while whispering into the phone (I lost my voice this week) I asked him to come home. He did about 2 hours later. By then I managed to make him some more lunches, pack up the caned goods and some more randomness! DH came home and emptied our bedroom as well as some buckets of his. It was good to have everything cleaned up and ready to go! I love this feeling, that we are almost ready to move!
Our downside right now is that it says it will rain this weekend while we move. That part sucks ALOT! but what can you do? That and alot of our people who are coming to help us move have now backed out. I'm hoping that we can still get a few of them to come over but we will have to wait and see how it goes. I know our friends who have the truck are helping us move everything (which is good) and we basically need the 'big' stuff moved, after that we are good with just the van.
DH called the campground and found out that we can get in as early as 8am! I think we are going to aim for 9 or 9:30 instead. Then we plan on getting the trailer and tents set up and leave the kids with Mom and Dad for a bit and we will head back home and start cleaning and bringing a few loads of stuff to the storage unit. We have to pack up the beds (I have the plastic covers for them) so hopefully we can get that part done and get them by the door and ready to move. We are going to take out the car seats from the van and put them at the trailer so my parents can take the kids somewhere if needed. We are also going to take out the seats in the van so we can get a few more big things in there. I'm really hoping that most of the 'big' stuff will be done before alot of the people get here.
Next week I plan on being home on Wednesday and Friday so we are going to leave some cleaning supplies and have those ready to go for the last minute problems and such.
Tonight is our last night in this house! Wow, and I can honestly say I"m not going to miss it, that much. I'll miss the 4 hard walls around us but aside from that I"m good
Last night I got the dresser ready in the trailer. I emptied all the 'stuff' from it and packed it full of our clothes. I have a few more clothes from the boys room (I hope to grab those today while they are napping and get them out to the trailer) and then we are generally set! Mind you I got all of DH's clothes (minus his week away which I made him pack for already) in his 1 drawer, then I got most of the boys clothes in their drawers and mine... well what can I say! I'm a girl! I got my clothes in there and in.....2.... garbage bags Thank goodness it all fits somewhat in the trailer. I'm figuring we will have a few boxes under the trailer with things like sweaters and long sleeve shirts and pants and coats. Or in the tent. Who knows.
I know I have been asking alot but please say a prayer for us. We are in the final home stretch and I"m getting a bit scared about things. More so the week I spend without DH. We haven't done it that I was ever alone with the boys before. I mean I spent a month or so with my parents when K was born, and I did do from Feb to June at my parents house but I have always had help. This coming week no help and it's starting to make me worry a bit.
As soon as I get my computer back I'll post photos from before. I did manage to also get the beds made and I got a few cutes photos from the boys pretending to nap in their new beds!
