Week 11 Day 1 - Friday, July 24th - Cleaned and off!

Friday:
Right after Arnold left this morning I went to work cleaning the rest of the trailer, and organizing a bit and getting some stuff ready for our weekend. This was the perfect time since Kyler was going to Camp Heslop the next week so I took ALL of his clothes and packed them up and put them in a bag to go to Nana and Papa’s house (clean or not) and then packed up what we needed for the weekend. Q and I managed to get all of our clothes in 1 laundry basket! I was impressed. We had fun packing and keeping the boys outside though.

Here’s the finished work of the trailer:

We left the trailer around 11:30am and headed out to get Arnold. We picked him up on the road behind work and attached his bike to the hitch and started our route to Nana and Papa’s house. We had to make a quick stop in London to pick up the wedding gift for them. I like to ask the Bride or Groom what they *really* want, be it on the registry or not, and I did the same for Leah and Pat. Leah told me she really wanted a print that was on her wedding page. We found it (after calling a bunch of places to see who had it on sale) and we had London put it on hold for us until the Friday. When I got there they knew who I was right away. The put some bubble wrap around it and I headed out to the car. Arnold had moved Kyler’s bike and his off the back and had everything cleaned out so we could squeeze the print between the boys seats. It was *huge*. I was very impressed with it. It totally looks like the Bright’s Grove beach I know and love (even now Arnold jokes about getting one for us; I’m not sure if it’s for the print or for the size, since we don’t know anyone, aside from Pat and Leah, who have one like it!).

We got home to Sarnia in a good time and Mom called me and left me with a list of things to pick up for her while she was at the reception. It was perfect. We got home and I quickly had a shower while Arnold and the boys unpacked the car and the print. When I was done Jack got home and him and I headed out and picked up what mom needed, went to the bank for J and then picked up some pizza for supper!

After the boys and I had supper we went down to Great Grandma and Great Grandpa’s house. We stopped by to say hi and see how they were doing. Kyler got to try on his school sweater. It’s so cool! I love that he gets a sweater just like we did when we went to school. He is so handsome in it (Thanks Grandma and Grandpa). When we walked home Nana and Papa were back so we went to play in the pool. It was COLD! They need a heater! Once we convinced everyone it was time to get out we got the boys changed into pjs and off to bed we all went. We knew we had a long/early day ahead so off to bed.

Week 5 Day 3 - Sunday, June 14th - PARTY!

It was a busy day! I’m sure you all know that the boys’ birthdays were back in March and April but what you may not know is that we didn’t really have a party for them. For Kyler we had a party here that was basically lunch at Tuckers (part of my brothers birthday), swimming and then supper in Nana and Papa’s hotel room. For Quinton we had his party/Easter at my parents’ house in April.

This morning when we woke up we got the boys bathed and breakfast then dressed and off to church we went. I was so busy getting things cleaned up in the trailer that I didn’t even get a chance to eat breakfast!

Once we got to church we all headed off in our own directions. Kyler and Quinton went off to nursery for Sunday school and church. I went to the C&C room for our Bible study and then up to church, and Arnold went off to do sound for the morning.

We had a great service. It was a youth service with a youth band and a few other ‘youthish things’. Then we headed out to go home. We did a quick stop at the grocery store on the way home to get a few things for the party. We are finding that anything ‘large’ we need to wait until the day of to get. So today we got a fruit and veggie tray, some burgers, hotdogs, chips and stuff. It worked out rather well since the boys fell asleep and I could get some alone time in the van while Arnold did the grocery shopping.

As soon as we got home the boys went into watch some more George and Arnold and I did some organizing. Arnold got done his bit first and went upstairs and paid for our next month of rent here. So at least you all know you have another month with me here blogging!

Around 3pm our friends came over. We had a nice, relaxed party. I was surprised how little I had to clean for the party. I guess when there is no cutting the lawn, dusting, vacuuming, ect, it’s a bit easier.

Here’s the photos from the party. Enjoy!

After everyone left we played a few games of Quinton’s new ‘nose’ game. It was so much fun to watch the kids figure out which went with which.

Then it was off to bed to the sound of rain.

Week 4 Day 2 - June 6th - Daddy Day

We had a nice fun day. We spent time with Daddy and that is what weekends (esp the first weekend of the month) is all about!

We got up this morning (with no news of Raccoons, thank goodness) and had breakfast with Arnold. Waffels! It was so good! Then we all got started on our ‘goals’ for the day. Thankgoodness they were that hard to do! Arnold got the last ‘leg’ of the trailer painted and touched up the other one. The boys and I cleaned out the van. It was a good thing! Trust me!

After some possible showers and crappy weather passed us by I packed up the kids and went to Shell. We very wisely spent $3.00 in the Vaccume there and cleaned out the van the rest of the way. It surprises me how much junk and crap gets in the van and needs to be cleaned!

When we got back we found Daddy was cleaning out the RT. He opened up the back to let in some sunshine and air.

The boys played with their Daddy while I took a bit of a break and chilled on the hammock (we finally found the other hook that was missing, or I should say Daddy did).

The boys and I headed up to do some laundry after a bit. We did a load in the washer then back down to the campsite to hang it to dry!

We had a little glich in our laundry line plans as the post the laundry line is normally hooked up to was the one being painted! But the wonderful DH figured it out!

After a quick potty break the boys were off to it again (we are finally getting Q back on the potty. He is not liking it but I’m sure he will adjust).

The boys played pirates in my hammock:

Then it was nap time (we did some grocery shopping in between and picked up some pizza!).

After the nap I managed to ‘forget’ my camera. That has to do with the fact that I was SO tired and so out of it! We did have a little campfire and got ready for the rain for this week. We put away all our toys and got to visit with some wonderful people.

We had a learning experience. I honestly wasn’t sure what to do. See we met up with this really nice couple. They have a truck with a trailer on the back of it. I’m not sure what it’s called but it’s really cool. The top pops up once you are where you want to go (I think the bed is up there. I was really impressed.
Anyway we met them after some ‘odd’ encounters. They have been here for a week and are so sweet. We saw them today on the walk to the potty’s when Kyler said to me “what happen to his arm?” It was so odd. He has a prostatic arm. The couple just kept walking but I always managed to run into them and sure enough as we were leaving the washrooms the husband of the couple was done the same time I was so we talked for a few moments. I apologized for Kyler but I wasn’t sure what to say. Anyway we got to visit with them and they were so sweet! They are from Manitoba and have been away from their house for almost a month now. They are doing great! They travel through the US and came, on the way here, through the Sulte and then came to TO. They have been doing this for 5 years now. They come for a week of Jay’s games. Then tomorrow they are heading to Sarnia (I should have sent stuff to my parents house) and are visiting some people there. Then home again to Manitoba. It’s pretty cool. They were so sweet and loved talking with the boys. Tonight they came over to borrow an axe and chop up some wood. When they leave tomorrow they said to stop by and pick up any leftover wood. They are so nice. It’s hard to meet people that you wish you could have met long before and been friends during their time here.

Anyway we are off to bed. The camp is full tonight and seems to be kind of loud but hopefully things will die down!
